India is currently under a 21-Day lock down and the cases in the country are accelerating. The number of confirmed cases is almost near to 2000 and with a death toll at 50. Many private firms are coming together to provide as much relief as possible to help people stay calm and safe. The daily-wage workers have hit hard due to this lock down. Many of them have fled to their villages because they couldn’t face the expenses of living in the metropolitan cities. To provide relief to people the telecom companies have come forward with their plans of extending validity on prepaid plans along with crediting their customers account with a talk time of Rs.10.

The telecom companies have taking the following measures:

Reliance Jio Reliance Jio announced on 31st March 2020, that it is offering a talk time of 100 minutes and 100 text messages to its customers till April 17th 2020. It has also informed that even if the validity of their plans has ended they will still receive incoming calls. Airtel Airtel is the first telecom company that came forward to provide free benefits for its users. It has also extended its validity up to 17th April 2020. They have also availed credit of Rs. 10 for 80 million prepaid customers. Vodafone Idea Vodafone has extended the validity of prepaid plans only for the low-income users. And just like Airtel they have also availed credit of Rs.10 int their customers accounts. BSNL and MTNL These telecom companies have extended their prepaid plans up to April 20th 2020. These companies have offered Rs. 10 talk time to all the customers whose account balance is zero. On 29th March 2020, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has asked these telecom companies to extend their prepaid plans. Rad more articles here:
